Humanlytic converts the paper’s hourly objective-use quartiles to daily minutes: 7.68 minutes at the 25th percentile, 42.72 at the 50th, and 95.52 at the 75th. Values between those anchors are linearly interpolated; tails are reported only as below the 25th or above the 75th.

Limitations
The estimate uses the published 25th, 50th, and 75th percentile anchors only. The sample was 68% female, limited to Android users, and not perfectly representative. Play Store category labels exclude some communication apps, including Snapchat, from the social category.
