About this calculator

What this calculator measures

See how your daily water intake compares with a relevant reference population. The comparison uses the reference population and evidence identified on this page.

How to interpret your result

A percentile describes the approximate percentage of the stated reference population with a lower value. When a source supports only categories, medians, or averages, Humanlytic shows that broader comparison instead of inventing an exact percentile.

Methodology

How this works

Evidence quality

Calculated from survey data

Method

Humanlytic converts the entered amount to U.S. cups and uses CDC/NHANES plain-water categories: 0 cups, 1–3, 4–7, and 8 or more. It reports the category’s cumulative percentile range without assuming a continuous distribution.

Data source

CDC/NHANES — Daily Consumption of Plain Water Among U.S. Adults

Limitations

This measures plain drinking water only. CDC publishes rounded cup categories—0, 1–3, 4–7, and 8+ cups—not a continuous distribution. Humanlytic reports category-based cumulative ranges and does not provide hydration advice.
