Method
Humanlytic calculated empirical WPM quantiles from the study’s public participant metadata (168,594 usable AVG_WPM_15 records). Values between adjacent quantile anchors are linearly interpolated and clearly labeled as estimates; values outside the 1st–99th percentile anchors are reported only as below or above those supported tails. No normal distribution is assumed.

Limitations
Participants were mostly younger people interested in testing or improving their typing, so the sample is not representative of every computer user. Humanlytic interpolates only between empirical quantiles calculated from the study’s public participant metadata and does not assume a normal distribution.
