Net Worth by State Percentile Calculator
See how your net worth by state compares with a relevant reference population.
What this calculator measures
See how your net worth by state compares with a relevant reference population. The comparison uses the reference population and evidence identified on this page.
How to interpret your result
A percentile describes the approximate percentage of the stated reference population with a lower value. When a source supports only categories, medians, or averages, Humanlytic shows that broader comparison instead of inventing an exact percentile.

Method
Humanlytic compares net worth (assets minus liabilities) with SmartAsset’s 2023 median household net worth for the selected state. The 2026 study also supplies factual shares of households at $100,000+ and $500,000+ where available; Humanlytic does not interpolate those into a percentile.
Data source
SmartAsset — Average Net Worth and Assets by State, 2026 Study
Limitations
The 2026 study uses 2023 U.S. Census Bureau household data and provides median household net worth for 43 states. Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming are unavailable. A median and threshold shares do not support an exact percentile.
