The categorical calculation uses the 250-person experienced-kisser sample: 12% kissed 1–2 people, 21% 3–5, 28% 6–10, 23% 11–20, and 16% 21+. A separate U.S. MTurk sample of 286 currently partnered adults reported a mean of 19.18, SD 41.05, and range 0–500; that skewed mean is context only and is never used to fit a normal curve.
